About Randy
Randy Phillips is a Regional & National Award winning video producer who is a lifetime resident of west central Illinois.
Experience? Randy’s experience is both unique & varied giving him a wealth of knowledge to draw on.
A career that started in 1982 at KHQA-TV working the overnight shift quickly transitioned into directing the 6 & 10pm news along with creating literally 1000’s of TV commercials & programs over the next 18 years.During these years, he also worked as a stagehand, lighting tech & pyrotechnician for multiple major names in the music industry like KISS, Guns N Roses, Def Leppard, Cheap Trick, The Maulers, Tom Petty & many others. So far, he’s worked for 8 different acts that are now in the rock & roll hall of fame.He also pursued a lifelong passion for aviation & earned ratings as a single & multi engine, instrument, commercial pilot with multiple other endorsements.
After leaving KHQA in 2000, he worked as a production supervisor for a local cable affiliate & as a commercial pilot for a local corporation.
In 2002, he started his own company doing video production. 4 years later, he sold & merged his company with a local advertising agency where he stayed for 13 years until it closed. You can hear his voice almost daily on local TV and radio as well as on real estate programs coast to coast.
He was also a videographer & editor with Illinois Public Broadcasting for an Emmy award winning program called Illinois Stories for 19 seasons.
Randy also creates instructional & educational corporate videos, dance recitals or nearly any special event using the same broadcast quality cameras & computer editing equipment you would find in production facilities in major cities.
